Tern, Sooty

Onychoprion fuscatus


Long-winged pelagic tern. Cosmopolitan in tropical waters. Nests
on sandy and rocky offshore islands, with or without vegetation. Otherwise
pelagic, feeds in flocks far offshore, dipping to luck prey from water while in
flight. Can occur inshore during bad weather.
