Occurs over many open habitats, from grassland to open
forest; common in settled areas . Forages on the wing from near ground to over
the canopy. Builds a distinctive cup-shaped mud nest on or near–vertical structures,
rock faces, buildings and other artificial structures. Partial migrant; many
from southern Australia migrate north in non-breeding season, augmenting
resident populations in inland and northern Australia.
