Dangerously Venomous
Total Length – 1m, but usually much smaller
Found along the east coast of Australia from north of Cairns to Melbourne, preferring to live in rainforest and wet eucalypt forest. Common in this region.
One of several small, secretive, nocturnal, front fanged venomous snakes found in this region. Generally living beneath leaf litter and or just beneath the surface of the ground and coming out at night to search for frogs and sleeping lizards. Some individuals have a pink belly leading them to be mistaken for young Red-bellied Black Snakes.
