Occurs in Qld mainly in heavily forested country at higher altitudes. For this region Eungella is their stronghold where the tropical subspecies P. elegans nigrescens occurs as a remnant, isolated population. Gregarious in small groups; noisy and conspicuous: can become tame where food provided.
