Pied Currawong
Strepera graculina
Familiar, vocal crow-sized bird. Widespread in eucalypt
forests and woodlands of eastern Australia.
Common in farmland and urban areas with some trees. In winter often
forms large flocks of 50 or more. Forages for insects, small vertebrates and
fruit at all levels from ground to canopy.
