Very large skulking cuckoo of dense understory.Voice includesa deep resonant series of around 25 note– oop oop oop. The only cuckoo in Australia that builds a nest.Mainly in open forest and woodland with understory oflong grass or dense vegetation, including around wetlands and in cane fields. Sometimes seen sprawling awkwardly in the sun to dry wings.
