A small bird measuring 8-10cm in length, it inhabits eucalypt forests, woodlands and watercourse vegetation. It often draws attention by persistent soft calls and can be quite approachable when feeding in low foilage as the photograph demonstrates.
They feed on insects, taking them from leaves and flowers of eucalypts. Although fairly common, they can be very difficult to see given their small size.
A locally taken photo is needed.
