Orange-footed Scubfowl

Medium-sized ground bird of tropical forests. Inhabits
rainforest, monsoon forest, gallery forest, vine scrub beachside scrub and
mangrove edges. Most common below 800m, occurring patchily at higher altitudes.
Sedentary. Territorial pairs occupy a home range containing 1 or more nest
mounds. When disturbed, runs away or makes a short clumsy flight. Omnivorous
eating insects, fruits and seeds revealed by scratching and picked from among
the leaf litter.
