Moderately common – Sedentary.

Black face, throat. crown chestnut, black central stripe. Green above; shoulders, rump iridescent turquoise. Buff below; black central stripe extends to red vent. Short green tail. Long flesh-pink legs. Size: 18-26cm. Juvenile: Black and olive-green; duller. Voice: Loud whistle; high alarm ‘keow’. Habitat: Rainforest, scrubs.
