Widespread over inland plains and watercourses and pastoral
lands. Common in northern Australia including this region. A bold and
opportunistic scavenger and predator. Gathers in large numbers around rubbish
dumps, feed lots, around fire fronts and carcasses and often seen following
cane harvesters swooping to catch fleeing invertebrates and small vertebrates.
