DANGEROUSLY VENOMOUS
Total length – 2.0 to 2.5m
Occurs throughout much of mainland Australia preferring drier open habitats and avoiding moist closed forests and wetlands. One of Australia’s largest venomous snakes with a highest venom yield. An opportunistic predator taking a wide variety of vertebrate prey including other snakes. Mainly nocturnal in hot weather, diurnal during mild weather. Uncommon in this region.
