Meliphaga lewinii


Medium sized, dark olive honeyeater with a distinctive machine-gun
rattle call. A rainforest and wet eucalypt forest specialist that has also
adapted to gardens. Bold, inquisitive and aggressive toward competitors. Mostly
resident. Forages in canopy and on ground for nectar, fruits, berries and
insects.
