A secretive hawk of wooded country with Grey and White colour morphs. Occurs
mainly i tall wet forest and riverine forest, sometimes woodlands and adjacent
open habitats. Perches on sturdy , shady branches, launching from them to catch
prey from trees or on ground. Also hunts on the wing.
