Eastern Whipbird

Psophodes olivaceus


Distinctive Thrush-sized bird of damp undergrowth, with
diagnostic territorial call. Feeds on ground in wet forest and scrub, turns
over leaf litter with powerful legs and feet to uncover prey. More often heard
than seen.
