Very small “mouse sized” carnivorous marsupial in same family as Quolls (Dasyuridae).
Combined head &body size only 70-95mm with a tail 60-90mm.
Terrestrial, nocturnal. Hunts amongst litter and rock crevices for invertebrates and small vertebrates. Litters of 5-10 mostly born from October to January. Occurs in sclerophyll and rain forests in northern Australia. On east coast occurs from Cape York to the upper Hunter region of NSW.
