Blind Snake – Flowerpot Snake (Introduced species)

Indotyphlops braminus

Total Maximum Length – 170mm

Introduced accidently to northern Australia. World’s most widespread land snake, transported as stowaways amongst soil and cargo from SE Asia. Successful dispersal is due in part to parthenogenisis, all female populations can reproduce without a male thus needing only one individual for a new colony to become established.
