Black-necked Delma

Maximum Snout Vent Length –
92mm

Found extensively through
northern and central Australia. Uncommon in Mackay/Whitsunday/Isaac region where
it is restricted to the drier open forests.

A small Legless Lizard
(Pygopodid) that lives in open grassy areas and feeds on small invertebrates.
When detected will vanish quickly into the grass, often leaping off the ground
to escape.
