Mostly found in closed forests but does occur in a wide
variety of forest types and increasingly in gardens in towns & cities. Nest
mound composed of leaf litter with very little soil. Eats fallen fruit, seeds
and invertebrates, and increasingly scavenges human garbage. Sedentary and
mostly solitary but does become tame around people. Runs when disturbed, flight
is rather laboured and clumsy but flies to roost in trees.
