Dense straggling shrub to 1.5 m high. Previously Callistemon pachyphyllus, however this name change has not been accepted by the Australian Plant Census.

Narrowly oblanceolate, 4.5-9 x 0.3-0.9cm, apex abruptly narrowed and mucronate. Thick, leathery, grey-green with prominent midrib and intramarginal veins.

Flower description: Spikes 5-10 x 5-6cm. Filaments about 25mm long, rich crimson or rarely yellowish green.

Habitat: Coastal dune, grassland, woodland.
