Bi-pinnate, to 30cm long. Three to five pairs of secondary segments, 10-15cm long, each with 10-18 alternate oval leaflets, 1.7-4 x 0.8-2cm,, dark green above, paler beneath.

Flower description: Cream green, 0.4-0.6cm in diameter, borne in terminal racemes 10-20cm long. November to February.

Fruit description: Green maturing to brown, woody, narrow pods, 20-25 x 1.5-1.8cm, twisted when ripe. Bright red seed retained in the open pods for some time.
Habitat: Open forest.
Distribution Queensland, Northern Territory, New Guinea, Malesia.

Notes: Attractive shade tree for larger areas. Propagate from scarified seed.
