Pinnate with 13 to 29 leaflets. Leaflets ovate to narrowly oblong, 1-4 x 0.6-1.3 cm, green, paler below, sparsely to densely covered with pale adpresed, medifixed hairs on both surfaces.

Flower description: Dense, showy, axillary racemes up to 23cm long with quite large (about 1cm long) pinkish to blue purple or reddish flowers. Spring to autumn.

Fruit description: Pods, green turning brown, up to approximately 4cm long, straight, cylindrical, hairless or with sparse hairs.
Habitat: Grassland, woodland.

Notes: Grow from heat treated seed.
