Fruit description: Red berries, up to about 5 x 3cm. Spring to autumn.
Habitat: Gallery (riverine or riparian) forest, rainforest.
Distribution Queensland, New Guinea.
Food source for:
Toxicity: No toxicity known
Origin: Australia, New Guinea.
Notes: Grow from very fresh seed or pieces of the stems. Fruit apparently sweet, juicy and until other Freycinetia spp. will not sting your mouth.
